Registered Nurse – Career Advancement Year Program
About the Role
This fixed term (12 months, minimum 0.6 EFT) position within the Career Advancement Year Program will offer you the opportunity to:
- Expand your paediatric nursing skills and knowledge through exposure to paediatric specialties on clinical units at the RCH
- Experience two acute clinical placements, each one 6 months in duration
What you’ll achieve:
- Conduct comprehensive and systematic nursing assessments to improve the quality of nursing care
- Demonstrate analytical skills in assessing and evaluating health information
- Use best available evidence, standards and guidelines to evaluate nursing performance
- Participate in professional development to enhance nursing practice
- Integrate nursing health care knowledge and skills to provide safe and effective care
Classification for this position will range from YP4 – YP9 depending on previous years of experience
Your skills and experience:
- Minimum 2 years of current acute paediatric nursing experience
- Able to commit to the program commencement date of 05/06/2023. Rotation to the second clinical placement will begin on 04/12/2023
- Flexibility and availability to work a full rotating roster of AM, PM and ND shifts
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Profession al practice Portfolio
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
