The Tasmanian Health Service is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for permanent Registered Nurse vacancies at the Wilfred Lopes Centre.

Location:  Wilfred Lopes Centre – South

Salary:  $66,421 to $91,807 pro-rata per annum – Please note these positions attract a 6.5% correctional allowance

Period of Employment:  Permanent, full time and part time, shift work (fully rotational), working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Please note there are multiple positions available.

 

The Role:
The Wilfred Lopes Centre is Tasmania’s only secure mental health unit which provides specialist inpatient care. The stand alone unit is situated adjacent to the Risdon Prison complex which offers free parking and a generous Correctional Health Allowance of 6.5%.

The successful applicant will work as part of the primary health care team, providing direct and indirect nursing care based on best practice principles. Duties will include assisting patients meeting their treatment and rehabilitative goals whilst working within a collaborative and multidisciplinary team.

Participate in the development and revision of organisational documentation and policies and procedures relating to nursing based best practice.

Participate in and contribute to a learning environment, through continuing education and training, professional development and attendance at conferences and relevant forums.
