Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) Division of Surgical Specialties & Anaesthetics provides services to Lyell McEwin Hospital (tertiary site with links to the University of Adelaide, University of South Australia & Flinders university) and Modbury Hospital (teaching site).

Our core values of respect, integrity and accountability underpin our commitment to provide excellence in care, innovation, creativity, leadership and equity in service provision and health outcomes to the Northern area communities. The Division of Surgical Specialities and Anaesthesia encompasses the Operating Theatre Complexes, Surgical Wards, Day Procedure Units, Pre-Admission Service and Gastroenterology Unit as well as providing speciality Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Consultant positions. There are over 450 nursing staff within the Division, which completes approx 12,000 surgeries at the LMH site and 5,000 surgeries at the Modbury site per annum.

The Nursing Director position provides strategic, operational and corporate management and leadership to nursing/midwifery staff.
In this role, you will accept accountability for the governance and practice standards of nurses/midwives; the development and effectiveness of systems to support, evaluate and consistently improve nursing/midwifery practice and healthy work environments, and the cost effective provision of health services. The Division of Surgical Specialities and Anaesthesia places a very high priority on building a culture which is patient/client centred and where patient/client engagement is encouraged as well as a culture that supports and actively develops its workforce.

The Nursing Director position is an integral part of the Divisional Leadership team and you will work closely and collaboratively with all members of this team to achieve the Divisional aims, objectives and projects.
