Maternity Unit Manager – New Contemporary Rural Service
The Lachlan (Parkes & Forbes) Maternity Service was launched in 2021 and provides a full range of contemporary care models after considerable consultation with the community. The service’s goal to provide culturally appropriate and women-centred care, and is at the forefront of maternity service delivery in regional Australia.
Services include MAPP (Maternity Antenatal /Postnatal program), Midwifery Group Practice, Private Care and AMIHS (Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Health Service). The service births approximately 210 babes each year in brand new or newly refurbished birthing suites and facilities.
This is a senior level position most suited to an experienced clinical leader who wants to advance their career and lead positive change for rural health services. As a new service you will be pivotal in developing and shaping the service and being a positive and helpful leader for your team. Our midwives are highly skilled clinicians who deal with a broad range of pregnancy and birthing scenarios, brought about by the autonomous environment in which they work. This is truly a role where you will challenge yourself, make an impact and shape the future of rural maternity services.
You’ll also be part of a broader network of MUMs and CNCs from our District who are well connected and support each other professionally, birthing over 3200 babies each year. Opportunities for training and development are plentiful and you will be encouraged to participate in our districts leadership forums and mentoring programs.
