Grade 2 Registered Nurse – Anaesthetics/PACU

About the Department
St Vincent’s Operating Suite currently houses 12 theatres, 12 anaesthetic rooms and a Post Anaesthetic Care Area. Working alongside the Sterile Processing Centre, Day Procedures and Endoscopy Centres. The department undertakes over 9,000 procedures per year in a vast range of highly specialised and complex specialities over a 24 hour period, 7 days per week.

About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Grade 2 Registered Nurse with anaesthetic/PACU experience, who are seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity to become part of our dynamic team, on a full time permanent basis.

We are able to provide you with excellent educational opportunities across a broad range of specialities including Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Neurosurgery, ENT, Plastics, General, Urology and Orthopaedics.

Classifications for this position will range from YP3-YP11 ($65,275 – $87,282 per annum).

Duties

• Ability to work efficiently as a member of a multidisciplinary team

• Managing the physical and emotional well-being of the patient

• Administration of medication in accordance with hospital procedures, protocols and policies

• Assist with medical and diagnostic procedures carried out in the unit

• Document, observe and report relevant nursing findings within the framework of nursing progress.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Completed Bachelor of Nursing Degree with a current Nursing Registration with AHPRA

• Post Graduate Diploma or Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (desirable)

• Minimum 12 months current experience in perioperative nursing and a good understanding of the current standards of practice

• Motivated, professional & exhibiting exceptional communication and time management skills
