Master of Nursing
The Master of Nursing from La Trobe University is one of the most popular postgraduate nursing courses in Victoria. The degree helps registered nurses build their careers through qualifying in one of nine specialisations. The degree is flexible and easily accessible for working nurses through online study. You’ll need to work at a hospital that focuses on your specialisation subject (like emergency or neonatal care) so that you can do advanced clinical training on site.
Many of the La Trobe University teaching staff are clinical nurses in demanding areas like emergency care, cardiac and intensive care, so you’ll get high quality training you can apply directly into your practice.
In each specialisation you’ll study the latest evidence-based research developments, undertake advanced clinical studies, study both theory and clinical practice, explore the physiological, psychosocial, ethical and rehabilitation aspects of care, and take part in supervised clinical practice.
You also have the option to take an early exit from the Master of Nursing and get awarded with a Graduate Certificate or a Graduate Diploma.
Neonatal special care
Mental Health Nursing and the Nurse Practitioner specialisation are available in standalone postgraduate courses.
